Pioneer Scale Company originated with the dream of Ronnie Crews. Ronnie started his journey in 1966 when he began working for Howe Richardson Scale Company as a service technician. His hard work and dedication brought him success with Howe Richardson. After 11 years he decided it was time to make his own mark. Ronnie spent his last three years with Howe Richardson as a district manager for Little Rock, Arkansas. While in Little Rock, he became friends with a Worthen Bank manager who encouraged Ronnie to pursue his entrepreneurial dream. With the help of his wife, Jeanie, the two got started in 1976 and Pioneer Services was officially born! During the early years of the business, Ronnie spent most of his time working alone and occasionally bringing in part-time labor for help. Ronnie’s sons, Keith and Brien, worked in the summers during their high school and college years. Keith came to work full-time in 1988 and Brien followed in 1989. The three became co-owners of what we now know as Pioneer Scale Company! Pioneer Scale Company built its first official home in Benton, AR in the late 1980s. Prior to that several buildings were rented to house the truck, trailer, and equipment. Not long after the Benton office was built property was purchased for another office in Texarkana, TX and Pioneer had officially expanded operations. To this day both offices are thriving! As the company expanded Pioneer Scale had begun to develop opportunities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. After several meetings took place, first with Ronnie and the founder of Cardinal Scale, W.H. Perry, and then a second follow-up meeting with Keith and David Perry, a final decision was made for Pioneer Scale to purchase the Cardinal Scale branch office in Grand Prairie, TX. That location has grown over the years and has become well established. That brings us to the latest Pioneer expansion, the Denver location that was purchased from American Scale. Since acquiring the Denver office, Keith and Brien have traveled thousands of miles and worked tirelessly toward securing qualified employees to serve that part of the country. Pioneer Scale and its team members have been blessed to grow from two self-employed individuals to a family owned business of three with approximately 29 employees. An operation that started from the kitchen table to three outstanding service locations and one fantastic corporate office!

We have been able to sell more weighing equipment because we deliver the highest quality truck/rail scales with the best possible installation. We have not been fickle to chase the cheapest scale on the market but continue to install only products that we feel are built to last.
